Hebrew-Speaking Therapist for Israelis Living Abroad

Online psychotherapy with a Hebrew-speaking therapist for Israelis living abroad and Hebrew speakers worldwide.

You Built a Life Abroad. But Something Still Feels Unsettled.

Living outside Israel can be enriching, exciting, and deeply meaningful. It can also bring unexpected challenges — some that are easy to name, and others that are harder to locate.

Perhaps something feels unsatisfying, confusing, or difficult to understand, even when life appears outwardly successful. Perhaps a sense of unease has been growing without a clear explanation.

For Israelis living abroad, these feelings often arise in a particular context. The distance from family, the experience of navigating a new culture, the complex relationship with what you left behind — and in recent years, the added weight of following events in Israel from afar — can all quietly shape how you feel, even when the connection to any of this isn’t immediately obvious.

Either way, you don’t have to make sense of it alone — or in a language that isn’t yours.

Why Work with a Hebrew-Speaking Therapist?

Language is more than a tool for communication. It shapes memory, emotion, humor, intimacy, and the way we understand ourselves.

Even for those who function comfortably in another language, therapy in Hebrew can allow for a different kind of conversation — one that feels more immediate, nuanced, and natural.

Working with a Hebrew-speaking therapist may also spare you the need to explain aspects of Israeli culture, family life, social norms, or collective experiences that often form part of your personal story.

For many Israelis living abroad, the opportunity to engage in therapy in their native language is itself meaningful.

My Approach

For me, therapy is essentially a learning expedition of the self — conducted through an unusual form of conversation, within a singular kind of relationship.

When something in life feels stuck, painful, or confusing, it often helps to slow down and look more carefully at what lies beneath. I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy informed by psychoanalytic theory. Together, we explore recurring patterns, emotional conflicts, and relationship difficulties that may be contributing to what you are experiencing.

My aim is not to fit you into a theory, but to listen thoughtfully and without judgment — in order to help you listen better to yourself.

The more we understand ourselves, the greater our freedom becomes to make different choices outside the consulting room.

Who I Work With

I work with adults from diverse cultural, national, and religious backgrounds.

My clinical experience includes work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, addictions and compulsive behaviors, life transitions, identity-related concerns, and work-related stress and burnout.

My practice is particularly suited to people who seek not only symptom relief but a deeper understanding of themselves and the patterns that shape their lives.

Professional Background

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and Hebrew-speaking psychotherapist working online with Israelis abroad and Hebrew speakers worldwide.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, residential treatment settings, and private practice — with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, psychotic illnesses, addictions, and a wide range of emotional and interpersonal difficulties.

An Israeli who has spent much of his adult life living abroad — including years in the United States and now in the Netherlands — this lived experience has given me a firsthand understanding of what it means to build a life in another country: the rewards it brings, the losses it involves, and the particular complexity of maintaining a relationship with a home you no longer live in.

My postgraduate training includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychoanalytic theory, and eating disorders treatment. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Yeshiva University in New York and a PhD from Tel Aviv University.

Online Therapy

Because I work online, I am able to meet with Hebrew-speaking clients regardless of where they live. For many Israelis abroad, finding a Hebrew-speaking therapist locally can be difficult or impossible. Online therapy makes it possible to work in your native language without being limited by geography.

While online therapy differs from meeting in person, meaningful therapeutic work can take place in either setting. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship and the capacity to engage openly and thoughtfully in the process.

I currently work with clients across European and American time zones and am generally able to accommodate scheduling requests from those regions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Online Therapy

Are sessions fully online?
For clients living outside the Netherlands, yes — all sessions take place via secure video call. You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private space where you can speak freely.
Do you work with clients outside the Netherlands?
Yes. I work with Hebrew-speaking clients wherever they live. I currently see clients across Europe, North America, and other regions. If you are unsure whether your location and time zone are workable, feel free to get in touch and we can discuss it.
What about time zones?

I work with clients across European and American time zones and can generally accommodate scheduling requests from those regions. If you are based elsewhere, contact me and we will see what is possible.

How long are sessions, and how long does therapy last?

Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly meetings. As for overall duration — this varies considerably. Some people come with a specific issue and find that a shorter period of work is sufficient. Others are looking for something more open-ended. There is no fixed commitment, and we can revisit expectations as the work progresses.

Fees and Privacy

What is the fee per session, and how is payment made?
Fees are discussed during the initial consultation. I take into account each person’s financial situation when setting a fee, and I aim to make the work accessible where possible. Payment is made via PayPal or bank transfer following each session.
Is what I share in therapy confidential, and are online sessions secure?
Everything discussed in sessions is confidential. There are limited exceptions — specifically, situations involving serious risk of harm to yourself or others — which I am legally and ethically required to take seriously. These situations are rare, and I will always discuss them transparently with you if they become relevant. Sessions take place on an encrypted, GDPR-compliant video platform, and your privacy is taken seriously at every stage.
